« Building a Sustainable Future: Global Citizens of the 21st Century »
160 members, partners and key stakeholders, and 170 UNESCO Associated Schools students and teachers gathered in Winnipeg, MB, April 24 - 26, 2016 to celebrate the historic adoption of the new Sustainable Development Goals and UNESCO’s leading role in the 2030 Education Agenda.
During the event, participants were asked to define the concept of global citizenship and the qualities of a global citizen. Here is what they had to say:
The event, in partnership with the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, enabled CCUNESCO’s members, students and teachers to participate in an immersive, interactive experience on human rights and social inclusion that offered both the inspiration and tools to reduce barriers and create meaningful, lasting change– a prerequisite to becoming a 21st century global citizen.
