International Youth Day 2017 - Call for Submissions

Youth Building Peace

On the occasion of International Youth Day (12 August), the Canadian Commission for UNESCO (CCUNESCO) is looking for young motivated leaders to serve as role models for all young Canadians who are working towards conflict prevention, social inclusion, and building sustainable peace in their own schools, communities, and abroad. The selected youth will be promoted on CCUNESCO’s social media platforms from August 1st to 12th 2017 as well as in different networks through the members of its Youth Advisory Group (YAG). More youth profiles, including those selected, will also be compiled and published on CCUNESCO’s website and distributed to its networks in a report. By this initiative, CCUNESCO aims at promoting the diversity, leadership, and impact of youth in their communities and inspiring marginalized, disengaged, and/or disenfranchised youth to action.
